Till when will the world remain silent to attacks on hospitals and medical personnel?!

From the crime of deliberately killing 15 of Gaza’s paramedics in cold blood a few days ago, to the bombing of the Baptist Hospital two days ago — being the only remaining hospital in Gaza City — scenes that violate human rights continue to compound, increasing the suffering of humanity and the people of conscience around the world.

We strongly condemn and denounce Israeli warplanes’ bombing of the Baptist Hospital, which resulted in the destruction of the emergency and reception departments, as well as the Hospital’s oxygen generator. Medical teams, patients, and the wounded were given an early warning of only 18 minutes to completely evacuate the hospital!

Since October 2023, and throughout its genocidal war, the occupation’s war machine has systematically targeted hospitals in Gaza. The first hospital targeted was Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, and two days ago, the enemy repeated this same criminal act under the same false pretenses—escalating the acts of genocide and endangering the lives of the wounded and the sick by putting this hospital out of service and depriving the residents of Gaza City and the northern region of any healthcare services.

With this bombing, the number of hospitals that have been destroyed and rendered out of service by Israel in the Gaza Strip has reached 35!

We, at the Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe, caution the international community against continuing its disgraceful silence and its carelessness towards stopping Israel’s crimes of targeting the healthcare sector in Gaza, and the destruction of hospitals and rendering them out of service—which compound the genocide and leave the wounded and sick to face suffering followed by certain death.

The Israeli occupation’s complete disregard for all principles of international law – especially those that protect hospitals, medical teams, and humanitarian workers from harm in warzones – has become a systematic criminal pattern resulting from the failure and inaction of the international community, the United Nations, and international courts to impose any form of deterrent sanctions on the unhinged occupiers. This failure has led to the continuation of Israel’s crimes of genocide in Gaza and will lead to the annihilation of 2 million people if unchallenged.

We reiterate our urgent demand to:

· Allow the entry of medical and humanitarian aid.

· Open field hospitals.

· Guarantee the evacuation of the wounded and the sick with critical conditions to hospitals outside the Gaza Strip.

· Impose sanctions on the Israeli occupying state.

· Hold to account those responsible for crimes against hospitals.

· Provide international protection for the healthcare sector and its workers.

We at the Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe affirm our readiness to support the healthcare sector in Gaza with our medical personnel and available resources.

Together, we will heal the wounds.
